Meet Christian Neumann

A graduate of the University of Texas, Christian went on to earn a Master’s degree from Texas State University before attending law school at San Antonio’s own St. Mary’s University School of Law. Upon graduation, Christian was inducted in the Harlan Society, an academic honor society comprised of the top 10% of graduates in the Juris Doctor program.

Christian immediately entered into private practice as an associate for renowned local attorney Michael McCrum, where Christian fought alongside McCrum in high-stakes, complex litigation in federal courts across the country. Early on in his career, Christian participated in an exceptionally rare criminal prosecution of former Texas Governor Rick Perry, assisting McCrum and his co-counsel, David Gonzalez, in intense pre-trial litigation as pro tem prosecutors tasked with bringing a public corruption case against the former governor.

After several years of high-stakes, high-profile criminal litigation in private practice, Christian went on to join the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney. Christian rose rapidly through the ranks of that office, trying innumerable criminal cases, with a an early focus on DWI and assaultive offense cases. As a felony prosecutor, Christian handled a broad range of criminal cases, including: drug possession and delivery charges; theft; felony DWI and intoxication assault and manslaughter offenses; gang-violence, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault charges; and a broad range of homicide cases, to include capital murder prosecutions.

Christian’s final assignment in Bexar County was in the newly created Public Integrity and Cyber Crime (PICC) Division, where he spent his time developing a professional relationship with the Texas Attorney General’s Child Exploitation Unit, enhancing the District Attorney’s ability to successfully investigate and prosecute individuals charged with exploitation of children on the internet. The unit was also responsible for the investigation of any public officials accused of criminal wrongdoing. Prior to the creation of the Civil Rights Division, Christian was also responsible for the review of Officer Involved Shootings, making critical decisions about whether any law enforcement officers should potentially face criminal prosecution for an on-duty use of force incident.

In 2022, Christian took a position at the Medina County Criminal District Attorney’s office to round out the final few years of his decade in public service. As a prosecutor for DA Mark Haby, Christian led the trial team in felony district court, taking dozens of cases to verdict, to include 5 murder cases in 3 years, multiple child sexual abuse cases, felony family violence offenders, and a variety of other offenses. Christian devoted much of his time to fostering productive relationships between local agencies and the District Attorney, enhancing the effectiveness of law enforcement and improving outcomes in the community.

Now, after more than a decade spent specializing in criminal law, Christian returns to private practice as a criminal defense attorney, bringing with him a deep understanding of the government’s “playbook” to ensure client’s rights are protected at all stages of the process.
